This is an experiment.
I’m a writer, who hasn’t been writing. I’m a dieter who hasn’t been dieting. I’m 5’4″and 50 years old, and I weigh 220 pounds, but my poor work-in-progress weighs nothing, nada, zip. I’d like to change directions this year.
I’d like to lose 80 pounds in 40 weeks. And I’d like to write 80 chapters in 40 weeks.
But…I didn’t name this blog 40808t.
I’ve taken weight off fast before. It was easier when I was younger. Now it’s not so easy to take it off. When I do take it off fast, I put it back on even faster. So I think I might be able to take the weight off and keep it off, if I go more slowly.
And a chapter a week? That’s not bad, considering what I have been doing.
And there’s something about the number forty. It rained for forty days and forty nights. The Israelites spent forty years wandering in the wilderness. Jesus spent forty days there, being tempted by the devil. So I figure forty is good enough for starters. Forty weeks, forty chapters, forty pounds.
I haven’t put any identifying marks on this blog. I really don’t want people Googling me and stumbling across a journal of what I eat every day and how many pounds and half pounds I’m managing to sweat off. I’m trying to build a professional presence on the web that does not have anything to do with weight loss. But you can call me Sarah, if you have an urge to call me something. That’s my name, actually. It’s just not a name I use very often.
If you need to contact me, I’m at 40404t at googlemail dot com.
